🎁 How to Personalise Your Notebook
The process is deliberately simple, whether you are ordering online or walking into the showroom.
- Choose your LEUCHTTURM1917 notebook. Browse by colour, size, and format in our online store or pick one up in person at the showroom. The full range is available for personalisation.
- Enter the text you want embossed. On the product page, fill in the personalisation field with the name, initials, or monogram exactly as you would like it to appear. Double-check spelling — this is the text that goes to press.
- Select your foil colour. Choose from matt gold, shiny silver, copper, or blind embossing using the option selector on the product page.
- Add to cart and complete checkout. SGD 15 for the embossing is added automatically. You will see the personalisation details summarised in your order confirmation.
- Pick up or receive by delivery. Collect from our showroom at 601 Sims Drive, or have it shipped to any Singapore address. Walk-in customers can wait while the embossing is done.

💝 What Can I Emboss?
✨ Names
A first name, a full name, or a preferred name — whatever the recipient actually goes by. This is the most common personalisation we do and the one that reads most warmly on a notebook cover. We recommend keeping it to what fits comfortably on a single line at a readable size: typically up to around 20 characters for an A5 cover.
👑 Initials & Monograms
Two or three initials arranged as a monogram are a classic choice, particularly for people who prefer a more discreet personalisation. A monogram in copper or blind embossing on a dark cover is one of the most elegant combinations we produce. Standard monogram order is first name initial, surname initial, middle name initial — though we can arrange them in any order you specify.

For A5 and A4 notebooks, we accept up to 25 characters including spaces. For A6 Pocket notebooks, we recommend a maximum of 15 characters to ensure the text remains legible and well-proportioned. If you are unsure whether your text will fit well, our showroom team can advise before pressing.
🎨 Font & Style
Individual personalisation orders are produced in our standard embossing font — a clean, well-proportioned serif that reads with authority on notebook covers and reproduces faithfully at small sizes. This consistent approach ensures every notebook leaves the press looking as it should. If you have questions about how a specific name or set of initials will look, please ask at the showroom before confirming — we are happy to show you examples.
📍 Placement
Text is embossed on the front cover as standard, positioned in the lower third of the cover — the same placement used by LEUCHTTURM1917's own monogramming service. This leaves the upper portion of the cover clean and the notebook's existing branding (if any) undisturbed. Alternative placements, such as centred or upper placement, can be discussed at the showroom.

Walk-in orders at the showroom are typically completed in under ten minutes for a single notebook. Online orders are processed and dispatched within one to two business days. If you need a notebook for a specific date, walk-in is the most reliable option — or contact us after placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
🖋️ Can I choose my own font?
Individual personalisation orders are produced in our standard embossing font, which has been selected for its legibility, proportion, and quality of reproduction on LEUCHTTURM1917 covers. We do not offer font selection for individual orders. If you would like to see examples of how the font looks with your specific text before committing, please visit the showroom — we are happy to show you in person.
🎀 Can I personalise a planner or weekly diary, not just a notebook?
Yes. The embossing service applies to any LEUCHTTURM1917 product in our range, including the weekly planner, daily planner, and monthly planner formats. The process and pricing are identical to notebooks — SGD 15 per item. Personalised planners make especially thoughtful gifts because they will be opened and used every single day.
⚠️ What happens if I make a typo in my personalisation request?
Embossing is permanent and cannot be reversed or corrected once pressed. Please review your personalisation text carefully before confirming your order. We reproduce exactly what you submit — including capitalisation, spacing, and punctuation. If you notice an error immediately after placing an online order, contact us as quickly as possible and we will do our best to catch it before pressing. Walk-in customers can review the text with our staff before we begin.
🔢 Is there a minimum or maximum character count?
There is no minimum — a single initial is perfectly valid and often very striking. For maximum characters, we accept up to 25 characters (including spaces) on A5 and larger notebooks, and recommend no more than 15 characters on A6 Pocket notebooks to ensure the text remains well-proportioned and legible. If your text is close to the limit, our showroom team can advise on sizing and layout before pressing.
👁️ Can I see a preview of how my personalisation will look before it is pressed?
We do not currently offer digital previews for online orders, but we do keep a selection of embossed sample notebooks in the showroom demonstrating different foil colours, text lengths, and placements. If you are uncertain how your specific text will look, we recommend visiting in person before committing — or reaching out to us with your text and we can describe the proportions. Once pressed, embossing cannot be altered.
